John was born in 1805.  John's father was Andrew Sheets and his mother was Mary Young.  His paternal grandparents were John Sheets Sr and Rebecca Pack. He had two sisters named Margaret and Rebecca.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 65 in 1870.
