Jocob was born in 1795.  Jocob's father was Andrew Sheets and his mother was Mary Mollie Shearer.  His paternal grandparents were Martin Sheets and Mary Hoover. He had a brother and a sister, named Adam and Catherine.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 52 in 1847.
