Alexander was born on February 6th, 1821.  Alexander's father was Jesse Reeves and his mother was Elizabeth  Obedience Charity Terrill.  His paternal grandparents were George Reeves and Jane Burton. He had five brothers and six sisters, named George, Joshua, John, Eli, Jesse, Jane, Nancy, Elizabeth, Charity , Sarah and Mary.  He was the third youngest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 70 on June 3rd, 1891.
