Martha was born in December 1839.  Martha's father was Thomas W Mitchell Jr and her mother was Charity  Johanna Carita Tucker.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas W Mitchell and Martha Cochran. She had three brothers and a sister, named John, James, Joseph and Mary Ann.  She was the second youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 92 on October 8th, 1932.
