Samuel (Bear Fighting) J Blevins

Samuel, known as Bear Fighting, was born in March 1863. Bear Fighting's father was Lewis Blevins and his mother was Mary Ann Meade. His paternal grandparents were Elisha Blevins and Alsey Ellendar Tackett. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named William, Robert, Solomon, Elisha, John, Levi, George, Lydia, Cynthia and Sarah. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 79 on March 30th, 1942.
