Markus was born on February 19th, 1826.  Markus' father was Harm ALBERTS and his mother was Zwaantien WILLEMS EEFTING.  His paternal grandparents were Albert Jans Willems ALBERTS and Jantien BOLLINK; his maternal grandparents were Willem JANSEN (EEFTING) and Marchien WILLEMS. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Albert, Willem, Jan, Jantje and Grietje.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 69 on September 5th, 1895.
