John, known as Leonard, was born on February 26th, 1900.  Leonard's father was John (DARNEY) George LOCKS and his mother was Florence (Dooney) Jessie TOMS.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas George LOCKS and Suzannah Elizabeth DAWSON; his maternal grandparents were Robert Alan Henry TOMS and Jessie Brockley CRAGER. He had three brothers and a sister, named Monie, Cyril, Clifford and Lily.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 63 on August 25th, 1963.
