Blanche, would get petrol coupons to enable her to take Frank out for rides.  Rodney Locks says: "Mother, Blanche, would get petrol coupons to enable her to take Frank out for rides using petrol coupons during the last war made available to her in view of his disablement. When his wife died, Kathleen and Biddy dedicated their lives to looking after him and Kathleen was one of our baby sitters when we were in Loughton.  We adored both of them and Clive and myself would cycle down on a Saturday morning to their home, 106 Roding Road, to do their garden.  Clive may confirm but I think we got paid 6 pence (old money).

Frank was born on August 5th, 1869.¹

Frank's father was Thomas George LOCKS and his mother was Suzannah Elizabeth DAWSON.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas William LOCKS and Ann (Annie?) RICE; his maternal grandparents were William DAWSON and Sarah HALES. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, DARNEY, Walter, Alfred, Frederick Charles, Harold, Annie, Emily Mary, Fanny Elizabeth, Ada Elizabeth and Maud.  He was the sixth youngest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 80 on May 2nd, 1950.
