Daniel was born on June 23rd, 1886.  Daniel's father was Thomas Jordan and his mother was Lousiana America Collingsworth.  His paternal grandparents were John McClelland Jordan and Matilda S. Holder. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Willie, John, Lizzie and Fannie.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 2 in 1888.
