Ricky was born in 1960.  Ricky's father was George Travis Holder and his mother is Lornee Walker.  His paternal grandparents were Sam B. Holder and Gay Shackelford; his maternal grandparents are Edgar Walker and Leachie. He has a brother and two sisters, named George, Loretta and Georgetta.  He is the youngest of the four children.
