Betty Carol (Uhlik) Morehead-Owings, 80, of Plattsmouth, NE., died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, Plattsmouth, NE.
Betty was born September 9, 1931, in Omaha, NE to Fred Antone Uhlik and Agnes Frances (Slavicek) Uhlik.
Betty was born in Omaha and raised and schooled in Plattsmouth, she attended and graduated from St. John the Baptist School, Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1949, and St. Catherine's School of Nursing of Omaha in 1952. She met and later married Carl T. Morehead on February 7, 1953 in Plattsmouth, NE. She had worked as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Bergan Mercy Hospital, Plattsmouth Manor, and Nebraska Masonic Home. She met and then married Earl G. "Whitey" Owings on May 18, 1979 in Plattsmouth, NE. Betty was a life long Plattsmouth resident.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Fred & Agnes Uhlik; Son: Thomas Morehead (1970); 1st husband: Carl T. Morehead (October 1976); and 2nd husband: Earl G. Owings (1989).
Betty is survived by one son: Jerry Morehead & wife Kimberly; three grandchildren: Garrett Morehead, Sydney Morehead, Courtney Morehead all of Bellevue; Cousins: Barbara Boll of Omaha, NE; Rodney Slavicek of Plattsmouth, NE; sister-in-law: Eileen Morehead of Plattsmouth, NE; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 2 from 1-5 p.m. at Roby Funeral Home Chapel.
Rosary Service followed by Vigil Friday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit.
Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Thomas Au officiating.
Pallbearers are Chris Morehead, Cletus Morehead, Dennis Morehead, Greg Morehead, Mark Morehead and Mike Morehead.
Final resting place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Plattsmouth, NE.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Church of the Holy Spirit.
