Joseph Michael LOVELY 
Joseph Michael was born on July 31st, 1887 in Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska.1 Joseph Michael's father was Michael LOVELY and his mother was Mary Ann KELLY. His paternal grandparents were Edward LOVELY and Bridget DONNELLY; his maternal grandparents are Thomas KELLY and MARY. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William Edward, Francis (Frank) Thomas, Michael Joseph Clair, James Philip, Mary Ann, Eva Margaret and Ellen C.. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 72 on May 29th, 1960 in Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska. He was buried in Calvery, Omaha.2 General Notes
Joe died in an apartment fire, where he lived along with seven others. He was 72 years old. Joe was County Public Defender since 1933 serving for 27 years. Among some of his courtroom battles were defences of accused slayers Luther Wesley Wilson, George Daniel Jones, and James Larosse- all first degree cases. In 1916 and 1917, he served in the state legislature. He also served 4 terms as deputy tax assessor. Joe went through the Omaha public school system and graduated from Creighton Univ in 1908 in the arts and sciences, and received his law degree at Creighton, in 1914.
