Jane's father is George LAVER and her mother is Love PITMAN.  Her paternal grandparents are William LEVER and Mary; her maternal grandparents are John PITMAN and Love HART. She has three brothers and five sisters, named Elias, Elijah, William, Anne, Charlotte, Charlotte, Elizabeth and Harriett.

‌Jane and William were married in a religious ceremony on March 25th, 1856 in North Cadbury, Somerset, England..1   They have two sons and seven daughters, named Robert, William, Ann, Elizabeth, Ellen, Emily, Harriett, Mary Jane and Rosina.
