General Notes

Hubert was in the famous Plattsmouth band when he was still a young boy. He
played Bass drum with his father Thomas and his uncles and friends.
Hubert was a retired mortician in Wahoo.
He received his education in Plattsmouth and remained home until 20. At 16, he began to learn the machinist's trade, which he followed for 9 years, 6years in Plattsmouth and 3 in Havelock.  In between times for a 3 year period, he farmed on his own account in Saunders County and later farmed for 2 years in Cass.  In 1901, he embarked in the furniture and undertaking business, in Weston and remained in these professions.  He was also a representative for the Frank Svoboda Monument company.  In 1909, he erected a fine brick building, 26 by 25 feet in dimension.
Hubert and Marie adopted their first child Marie, who died at 23.
He was a republican.
