FORMER MARINE
ENGINEER DIES
FUNERAL TODAY
George A. Curry, 51, former
marine engineer but for the past
15 years the owner and operator
of a large cherry orchard op
posite the Peninsula Fruit farm
pickers' camp, died at a local
hospital Wednesday morning
from complications that sent him
to the hospital for treatment
twice in the past 10 months.
Hahn's funeral home has charge
of the funeral arrangements.
Services will be held this morn
ing at 9 o'clock from the St
Joseph's church with the Rev.
Father • Koeferl officiating, arid
interment will be at St. Joseph's
cemetery. Six marine men will
be pallbearers.
Mr. Curry was born at Jacksonport
July 5, 1885, and came
to this city at the age of three
with his parents, Mr, and' Mrs.
James Curry.. He was a marine
engineer 12 years before becom
ing a Xrult grower, sailing prlnr
cipally on carferries, the: .lumber
barge Hitler and the freighter,
Cream City, that was wrecked
near. Detour, Michigan, 'about 20
years ago.
The only immediate survivor
is the father with whom he lived.
.Two sistere and one brother are
deceased. .
