Death Notes
Lot Kay. Nana came home from hospital after having Ainsley to find that Lot had been hitting the aspirin, or equivalent pain killers and it was after that they discovered he had hydatids. That is what killed him, cos the cyst exploded. (This from Adele's memory of mother’s recounting of the tale to her when she was small.) Death Register: vol: ref: ILMO Discrepancy as to whether Lot's grave is in Otautau-Hodgkinson or Otautau Old cemetary - Section 4 Both are listed in the records made in 1983 by a Fairfax Genealogist. The Otautau Old cemetary is in Nutsford Road. The Otautau-Hodskinson cemetary is 2.5 km north of Otautau on the Bayswater-Otautau highway, Wallace county. The burial date is (10/16/1921- before his death) is from the cemetary records.
General Notes
From Rex: My recollection is Lot and Grandma met when Lot fell down an old watershaft. Grandma was the person who heard his cries for help. Mum was born in Fairfax. Both Lot and James died while they were living at the Dairy Factory in Fairfax. Grandma, mum and Ainsley then moved to Nightcaps the small coal mining town, for a while, and then to Dunedin.
