Elizabeth (Betty) Harder (Turk) 
Elizabeth, known as Betty, was born on October 3rd, 1902 in Novi Slankamen, Yugoslavia.1 Betty's father was Konrad Schwartz and her mother was Tererya Pfeiffer Schwartz. Her paternal grandparents were Heinrich Schwartz and Margareta Stekel Schwartz. She had three brothers and a sister, named Miguel, Adão, Conrado and Annita. She was the oldest of the five children. She died from cancer at the age of 64 on January 7th, 1967 in Chicago. The funeral took place on January 11th, 1967 in Chicago and was arranged by Island Lake Funeral Home.2 2

She did not speak portuguese so she was not able to communicate with the Brazilian relatives, except for her sister Annita
