Augusto de Athayde Corte-Real da Silveira was born in S. Pedro, Ponta Delgada, Ilha de S. Miguel,  Açôres - PORTUGAL.  Augusto de Athayde Corte-Real da Silveira's father was Gonçalo de Atayde Corte-Real de Bettencourt and his mother was Joana Augusta de Menezes da Silveira Estrela.  His paternal grandparents were Capitão João Manuel da Câmara de Bettencourt e Sá and Teresa Guilhermina Isabel de Bettencourt Botelho de Arruda; his maternal grandfather was Luís Máximo da Silveira Estrela and his maternal grandmother is Custódia Máxima de Menezes de Lemos e Carvalho. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Gonçalo de Ataide Corte-Real da Silveira, Luís de Atayde Côrte-Real da Silveira, José de Ataide Côrte-Real da Silveira, Joana de Ataide Corte-Real da Silveira, Teresa Ermelinda de Ataíde Corte-Real da Silveira and Maria Teresa de Ataíde Côrte-Real da Silveira.  He died on July 5th, 1931.
