Naji was born in 1968 in Lebanon, Chouf, Serjbeil.  Naji's father is Wadih Abou-Rjeily.  His paternal grandfather is Georgi Abou-Rjeily. He has six brothers named Georges, Jamil, Jean, Karim, Tanios and Jihad.  He is the second youngest of the seven children.
