Wilfred was born on December 20th, 1879 in 34 College Green, Bristol, UK.1 Wilfred's father was John James Peters and his mother was Emilie Gertrude Downing. His paternal grandparents were Henry Peters and Jane Shepherd <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were George Downing and Jane Mary Wall. He had six brothers and seven sisters, named Alfred, Ernest, Edmund, Mervyn, Cecil, Antony, Lilly, Edith, Ada, Alice, Constance, Emilie and Clara. He was the youngest of the fourteen children.
