Janet was born in 1826.  Janet's father is Donald Dunnet and her mother is Janet Houston.  Her maternal grandparents are John Houston and Margaret Robson.  She has three brothers and three sisters, named William, John, Alexander, Margaret, Catherine and Elizabeth.  She is the third oldest of the seven children.
