Elizabeth was born in 1826.  Elizabeth's father is George Manson and her mother is Frances Williamson.  Her paternal grandparents are Alexander Manson and Margaret Swanson.  She has three brothers and two sisters, named John, William, Donald, Margaret and Janet.  She is the fourth oldest of the six children.
