Karel was born in 1720.1  Karel's father was Jan Preisler and his mother was Zuzana.  His paternal grandparents were Jiří Preisler and Finková. He had a brother named Václav.  He was the older of the two children. He had three half-brothers named Jan, Josef and František.  He died at the age of 55 in 1775.1
