Ilona's father was Poszpischil Ferenc and her mother was Dvorszky Zsuzsanna. Her paternal grandmother was Kecskés Anna. She had a brother and four sisters, named Ferenc, Mária, Anna, Margit and Emma. She was the fourth oldest of the six children.
