Jan Janszn was born in 1627 in Brakel.1  Jan Janszn's father was Jan Huijbertszn van Willigen and his mother was Geurtje Jansdr Blanken.  His paternal grandparents were Huijbert Janszn van Willigen and N.N. N.N.; his maternal grandparents were Jan Hendrickszn Blanken and Mariken Geurtsdr Blanken. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Jacob Janszn Huibertszn, Huijbert Janszn, Adriaentje Jansdr, Heiltje Jansdr and Maeijcken Jansdr.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 61 on November 1st, 1688 in Brakel.1
