Aertje was born in 1682.  Aertje's father was Willem Ariensz van Wijnen and her mother was Geertruij Willems Rijkers.  Her paternal grandparents were Arien Aertszn van Wijnen and Gijsbertje Ariens N.N.. She had a brother and two sisters, named Arie Willemsz , Geertruij Willemse and Jenneke.  She was the youngest of the four children.
