Joostina was born on October 18th, 1808 in Nederhemert and her baptism took place there on November 6th, 1808.1  Joostina's father was Jan van de Werken and her mother was Catharina Maria Kaiser.  Her paternal grandparents were Joost van de Werken and Dilia van den Berg; her maternal grandparents were Johannes Kaiser and Carolina N.N.. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Johannes, Joost, Johannes, Carolina and Dientje.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 24 on September 2nd, 1833 in Gameren.1
