Jenneke was born on January 25th, 1806 in Gameren and her baptism took place there on February 2nd, 1806.1 2  Jenneke's father was Peter Abraham van de Werken and her mother was Catharina van Haaften.  Her paternal grandparents were Abraham van de Werken and Jannigje van Tiffelen; her maternal grandparents were Willem van Haaften and Jenneke Blomhert. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Willem, Abraham, Gerrit, Meerte, Meerte, Peter, Jannigje and Hendrika.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 77 on April 17th, 1883 in Gameren.1
