Abraham was born in 1729 in Gameren and his baptism took place there on April 17th, 1729. Abraham's father was Peter Peterszn van de Werken and his mother was Jenneke Hendriksdr van Engelen.  His paternal grandparents were Peter Peterszn van de Werken and Mereke Abrahams van der Linden; his maternal grandparents were Hendrik van Engelen and Jenneke Abrahamsdr van Wijgerden. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Hendrik Peterszn, Peter, Abraham, Meerke Petersdr and Jenneke.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died about 1730 in Gameren.
