Eghbert Dirckszn was born in 1653 in Bommel and his baptism took place on December 18th, 1653 in Haaften conducted by Reverend Josias J.S. Spiljardus.1   His godmother was/is Weijntken Cornelisdr (huisvrouw van Jan Egbertszn Blomhert). Eghbert Dirckszn's father is Dirck Janszn Versteegh and his mother is Ariaentjen Egbertsdr Blomhert.  His maternal grandparents were Egbert Janszn Blomhert and Heesken Gomperts N.N.. He has a sister named Aeltje Dirksdr.  He is the younger of the two children.
