Leendert was born in March 1684 in Aalburg and his baptism took place there on March 5th, 1684.1  Leendert's father was Aert Janszn Verhagen and his mother was Sijcken Leendertsdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Jan Aertszn Verhagen and Jenneken Adriaensdr N.N.. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Jan, Thomas, Thomas, Jenneken and Leijntje Ariensdr.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died on March 5th, 1684 in Aalburg.1
