Aeltien was born in March 1681 and her baptism took place on March 23rd, 1681 in Dussen.1  Aeltien's father is Sijmen Sijmenszn Tabbert and her mother is Lijsken Theunisdr Botermaet.  Her paternal grandparents are Sijmen Tabbert and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents are Theunis Botermaet and <Unknown>. She had two brothers and eight sisters, named Simen, Sijmen, Maeijcken, Maeijke, Anneken Sijmensdr, Anneken, Theuntje, Lijntjen Sijmensdr, Neeltien and Neeltjen.  She is the eighth oldest of the eleven children.
