Sijpke Pieterszn was born on May 22nd, 1771 in Kollum and his baptism took place there in 1771.1 2  Sijpke Pieterszn's father was Pieter Pieterszn Soveelen and his mother was Ettjen Harkers.  His maternal grandparents were Harke Sipkes N.N. and Eelkjen Martensdr N.N.. He had a brother named Pieter.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 78 on May 22nd, 1849 in Putten.1
