Cornelia's father was Dirk Janszn Schaap and her mother was Aertge Kuijndertsdr N.N.. Her paternal grandparents were Jan Arienszn Schaap and Lijsbeth Teunisdr Cornelis N.N.. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Kuindert, Jan, Arie, Cornelis, Antonij, Neeltje and Jenneke. She was the seventh oldest of the eight children.
