Cornelis Govertszn was born in 1711 in Andel and his baptism took place there on May 24th, 1711.1   His godmother was Ariaantje Jansdr van Rijswijk. Cornelis Govertszn's father was Govaert Janszn Roza and his mother was Lijsbet Jansdr van Rijswijk.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Govertszn Roza and Maria Petersdr van As; his maternal grandparents were Jan Janszn van Rijswijk and Willemke Adriaensdr van den Biesheuvel. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Jan Govertszn, Anthonij Govertszn, Arien Govertszn, Bastiaan, Willemken Govertsdr and Maria.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 73 on May 21st, 1784 in Andel.1
