Grietje Arensdr was born in April 1726 in Nijkerk and her baptism took place there on April 22nd, 1726.1  Grietje Arensdr's father was Renger Ariszn Rengersen and her mother was Dirkje Aarts Elbertsdr N.N.. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Aris Arienszn, Elbert Aarentsz, Arend, Gerret Arentszn, Wijmpje Arrisdr, Wijmje Aartsdr and Wijmpje Arisdr.  She was the seventh oldest of the eight children.
