Willem was born about 1530.1   Willem's father was Dirck Adriaen Kuijst Poorterszn and his mother was Marie Dercksdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Adriaen Dirckszn Kuijst die Poorterszn and N.N. N.N.. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Adriaen Dirckszn Kuijst Poorterszn, Anthoni Dirck Kuijst, Dirck Dirckszn, Aeijken Dirksdr and Teijnske.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children.  He died after July 2nd, 1577.1
