Geertruij was born in 1744 and her baptism took place on July 29th, 1744 in Utrecht.1  Geertruij's father was Antoni Otterspoor and her mother was Maria van Covelswaey.  Her paternal grandparents were Cornelis Otterspoor and Gijsberta van Vloten. She had four brothers named Peter, Cornelis, Hermanus and Gijsbertus.  She was the third oldest of the five children. She had a half-sister named Maria.  She died before July 16th, 1750.2
