Pieter was born on May 25th, 1836 in Ellewoutsdijk (Zeeland).1  Pieter's father was Gilles Noels and his mother was Laurina Hoebeke.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Noels and Maria van Schagen; his maternal grandparents were Anthoni Pieterszn Hoebeke and Francina Cornelisdr van Kerkfort. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Anthonij, Jan, Adriaan, Marinus Levinus, Maria, Francina, Catharina Pieternella and Catharina Levina.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 56 on February 24th, 1893 in Ellewoutsdijk (Zeeland).2
