Cornelis was born in 1782 in Capelle (Noord Brabant) and his baptism took place there on October 20th, 1782.1  Cornelis' father was Eeland Nieuwenhuijsen and his mother was Willemijna Konings.  His paternal grandparents are Jan Nieuwenhuijsen and Maria Loopers; his maternal grandparents were Maurus Koningh and Hendrina de  Bie. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Maurits, Johannis, Hendrik, Maria, Hendrien and Willemijna.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 64 on December 6th, 1846 in Vrijhoeve-Capelle.2
