Gijsbert Lubbertszn was born in March 1696 in Ermelo and his baptism took place there on March 6th, 1696.¹

Gijsbert Lubbertszn's father was Lubbert Wouterszn N.N. and his mother was Atris Gerritsdr N.N.. His paternal grandparents were Wouter Janszn N.N. and Wijntje Jansdr N.N.; his maternal grandfather is Gerrit Beerszn N.N. and his maternal grandmother was N.N. N.N.. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Wouter Lubbertszn, Gerrit Lubbertszn, Hendrick Lubbertszn, Bessel Lubbertszn, Jan Lubbertszn, Trijntje Lubbertsdr, Fijtje Lubbertsdr, Grietje Lubbertsdr and Wobbetje Lubbertsdr. He was the seventh oldest of the ten children.
