Harmen Lubbertszn was born in January 1809 in Ermelo and his baptism took place there on January 29th, 1809.1  Harmen Lubbertszn's father was Lubbert Gijsbertszn de Mots and his mother was Gerritje Jansdr Boonen.  His paternal grandparents were Gijsbert Lubbertszn de Mots and Maaijtje Jansdr Koopman; his maternal grandparents were Jan Janszn Boonen and Hendrikje Cornelisdr N.N.. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Elbert, Elbert, Maaijtje Lubbertsdr, Beerntje and Maartje.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 81 on March 16th, 1890 in Ermelo.1
