Jacobus was born on February 20th, 1735 in 's Grevelduin-Capelle and his baptism took place there on February 20th, 1735.1  Jacobus' father was Michiel Lawende and his mother is Catharina Paans.  His paternal grandparents were Helliger Girritszn Lauwende and Anneke Ariensdr Decker. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Heijliger, Arien, Michiel, Anneke, Adriana and Anna.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 88 on December 21st, 1823 in Besoijen.1
