Cornelis was born in July 1736 and his baptism took place on July 14th, 1736 in Almkerk en Emmikhoven.1   His godmother was Jenneke Empelman. Cornelis' father was Joost Segerszn Kenniphaes and his mother was Margarita Antonisdr Vos.  His paternal grandparents were Seger Corneliszn Kenniphaes and Lijntjen Sijmensdr Tabbert; his maternal grandparents were Anthoni Vos and Catharina van den Assem. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Seeger, Antonij, Antoni, Catrina, Lena and Lena.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 8 on December 17th, 1744 in Almkerk.1
