Gijsbert Frederik was born on February 21st, 1836 in Gameren.1  Gijsbert Frederik's father was Gerrit de Jongh and his mother was Adriana van de Werken.  His paternal grandparents were Hendrik Peterszn de Jongh and Mereke Arnoutsdr van de Werken; his maternal grandfather was Peter van de Werken and his maternal grandmother is Fijke van Leeuwen. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Peter Cornelis, Hendrik Arnoldus, Hendrik Arnoldus, Mereke Hendrika and Mietje Geertrui.  He was the fifth oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 67 on April 24th, 1903 in Gameren.2
