Aernout was born on August 17th, 1778 in Gameren and his baptism took place there on August 23rd, 1778.1   His godmother was Mereke van de Werken huisvrouw van Ot van Tuil. Aernout's father was Hendrik Peterszn de Jongh and his mother was Mereke Arnoutsdr van de Werken.  His paternal grandparents were Peter Thijssen de Jongh and Cornelia van Beusekom; his maternal grandparents were Aernout van de Werken and Geertruij Lenshoek. He had three brothers and a sister, named Pieter, Cornelis, Gerrit and Geertruij.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 34 on June 13th, 1813 in Gameren.2
