Jan Gijsbertszn was born about 1633 in Woerden.1  Jan Gijsbertszn's father was Gijsbert Janszn Geestdorp and his mother is Marritgen Gerritsdr Verlaan.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Philipszn Geestdorp and Sweertjen Aernout Aartsdr N.N.; his maternal grandparents are Gerrit Maertenszn Verlaan and Aechge Gerritsdr N.N.. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Heijndirk Gijsbertszn, Reijer Gijsbertszn, Dieuwertje Gijsbertsdr, Weijntgen Gijsbertsdr and Aeltgen Gijsbertsdr.  He was the oldest of the six children.  Jan Gijsbertszn is no longer alive.
