Eijke was born on June 26th, 1746 in Zuilichem and her baptism took place there on June 26th, 1746.1   Her godmother was Maria Spitzers. Eijke's father was Jan Ekelmans and her mother was Wouterke van de Werken.  Her paternal grandparents were Hendrik Ekelmans and Maijke van Genderen; her maternal grandparents were Arien Wouterszn van de Werken and IJken Hendricksdr Struijk. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Hendrik, Arien, Wouter, Sander, Margriet, Maijke and Margrietje.  She was the seventh oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 34 on August 31st, 1780.2
