Arnoldus was born on June 13th, 1794 in Aalburg and his baptism took place there on July 6th, 1794.1 2  Arnoldus' father was Adriaan Aartszn Bax and his mother was Lijntje van Loon.  His paternal grandparents were Aart Adriaenszn Bax and Arnolda Petersdr van Metterden; his maternal grandparents were Lambert van Loon and Catelijn de Jong. He had two brothers named Lammert and Antonie.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 73 on December 9th, 1867 in Wijk.3
