Jan was born in 1638 in Nieuwaal and his baptism took place on October 7th, 1638 in Haaften conducted by Reverend Joannis Ribbij.1  Jan's father is Dirck Janszn Aldens and his mother was N.N. N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Jan Aldens and N.N. N.N.. He had a brother named Hendrick Dirckszn.  He was the younger of the two children.  Jan is no longer alive.
